new identity project

Posted by Fabio Benedetti

Last December, at Thinkology I worked on the new identity for a South West customer. A Devon-based construction business, Westbuild wanted a new identity with a colour (cyan, lime and dark orange) for each service department of the firm (commercial, residential and turnkey). The icon reminds of a building and the icon is also strategically placed in the West area of the design. Westbuild has been a very inspiring project as it involved the creation of the entire coordinated corporate identity. So far, Westbuild requested a new identity + stationary + website. I am currently working on their website, so stay tuned because news may be disclosed anytime soon!

westbuild stationary

Posted by Fabio Benedetti

Luckily, the client was over the moon with the results! Happy client = happy Fab. The next step has been to come up with a coordinated identity that could  tick the ‘corporate’, ‘professional’ and ‘clean’ boxes as the client wanted to keep it simple. I am glad all went smooth and Westbuild totally loved the work.

artscode logo made in wood

Posted by Fabio Benedetti

This little masterpiece was hand-made by my brother Alessandro, in his carpenter workshop based in our beautiful Viareggio, Tuscany.
My brother is some kind of genius when it comes to wood – as well as a talented artist in all manual works, I have to say! Last Christmas he gave me this magical item, made in Finnish birch plywood, as a special customized pressie. I am sure his skills will come in handy for other cool, handcrafted works. Stay tuned!

vynil toys rule

Posted by Fabio Benedetti

Artscode HQ is full of rad vinyl toys. I love the ‘Ye Olde English’ series by Kidrobot and Tado’s is definitely my favourite! This is one of the reasons why I am currently thinking of a possible custom toy by Cocorino… Artists like Tado, Tokidoki and Peskimo are a constant source of inspiration, so stay tuned!

2010 rainy london xmas cards

Posted by Fabio Benedetti

This year’s Xmas cards for Rainy London feature a change of direction. Indeed, I was asked to create a custom character – I like characters! – that could be funny, cute and… red, as the usual R.L. colours. The style inspiration is taken from Japanese icons and designs, while the red hue provides a Christmassy flair without actually using any of the traditional seasonal items.  If you open the card from back to front, the character’s face becomes complete. Happy holidays!

artscode on web design index 8

Posted by Fabio Benedetti

I was honoured to be featured in the Web Design Index 8 book. Along with other very nice, eye-catching, design-driven web pages, the previous version of Artscode was also included. I was really happy to be in it, and the book is certainly a nice reminder of my old portfolio.

boomerang propaganda card

Posted by Fabio Benedetti

This photo was taken in Exeter, in the cathedral’s close – one of my favourite places in the whole world! – and I like the contrast of the rusty handle against the dark grey/white card. I just thought the clash of the vintage look of the door and the brand new paper was very striking.

web design index 04 features scuola arte e balletto

Posted by Fabio Benedetti

Scuola Arte & Balletto’s website – a Tuscany-based dance & ballet school – was included in the Web Design Index by Content .04 volume. Although a small project for a local school, the website had an impact in the community and I was flattered it was given a space in this important publication!

gingersnap website gets the dope

Posted by Fabio Benedetti

At the beginning of 2010, Gingersnap’s website, that I designed under Thinkology, was awarded the Dope Award Recognition. Gingersnap is a Bristol-based model recruiting agency that wanted a fresh and eye-catching website to use as their online database for customers. The website is no longer online in this format.
